Chris Allen is president of iDevices, the smart home technology company he founded in 2009 after inventing the iGrill, an app-enabled grill thermometer. After selling the iGrill to Weber-Stephens in 2016, Chris pivoted his company's focus to the burgeoning smart home industry. iDevices was acquired in April 2017 by Hubbell Incorporated. The company continues to develop innovative solutions that reinvent how people interact with their homes. Chris remains heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of iDevices; he strategically plans the company’s product and partnership roadmap, manages its strategic relationships, leads business development and helps reinforce the culture that has led to the company being named one of the best places to work in Connecticut three straight years. Chris comes from an investment background, and prior to founding iDevices, worked for over 15 years in the industry. Chris believes technology should be "invisible to the user and any devices should merely exist to enhance the user's daily life.”
