Jason Spreyer joined Brookfield in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer in the United States for Brookfield Renewable. In this role, Jason was charged with building and enhancing a team in support of the Company’s decision to create country regional platforms. In addition, he participated on the senior management team supporting the growth initiatives within the country, including participating in the development of the St. Anthony’s Falls hydroelectric project, Glen Ferris hydroelectric redevelopment and the Wind Energy Transmission of Texas (WETT) projects. At the end of 2009, Jason took over the role of Senior Vice President, Finance for the Corporate Group located in Gatineau, Quebec, and had the overall responsibility of accounting, financial reporting, strategic initiatives and financial analysis. Following this assignment, Jason moved back to the United States and took over the global CFO position of the newly created Utilities Group at Brookfield. In this role, Jason was responsible for creating a global utility platform with focus on finance and reporting, business integration and capital deployment. Following this two year assignment, Jason joined the development team in 2013 where he has led a team of professionals in the business development function charged with the creation and execution of the Brookfield development strategy in North America. Jason has 17 years’ experience in the energy industry with expertise in the finance and business development functions and is a CPA with an MBA from Boston University (concentration in Corporate Finance) and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth. He is a member of both the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
