Marty Stern is a partner in the D.C. office of Womble Bond Dickinson, and heads the firm’s 13-attorney Communications, Technology & Media practice. Drawing on his experience in the US Justice Department and the FCC, Stern is a trusted advisor to his clients on regulatory, policy and commercial matters across the sector, and represents providers as well as enterprises and technology firms that are large users of communications-related services. In the utility space, he handles wireless spectrum transactions used for utility-related deployments, and compliance and transaction-related issues associated with utility radio licenses. He also advises on Telephone Consumer Protection Act compliance matters and associated vendor agreements across multiple utility customer messaging platforms. He has advised utilities on regulatory issues associated with launch of drone operations for the inspection of distribution and transmission facilities, and on the formation and operation of an unregulated communications affiliate and its provision of commercial services to enterprise customers.
