Ambar Alfaro has been a teacher for 14 years at Southwest Miami High School, where she initially taught English until she joined the Academy of Information Technology in the fall of 2019. She now teaches Digital Information Technology as well as Gaming & Simulations. Ambar attended the University of Miami, where she majored in journalism and English literature. In 2009, she received her Masters in Teaching & Learning, with a concentration in technology in the classroom, from Nova Southeastern University. Though not an avid gamer herself, video games have always interested her, and she is enjoying this new venture as General Manager of Southwest’s Eagle Gaming eSports (EGES) team.
