Dr. Brooks received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from NC State University in 2005 and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2008 and 2012 respectively. He is currently the manager of the Perception Systems Section at Southwest Research Institute where he manages a team of experts in the field of traditional and modern computer vision techniques such as Deep Learning. With over a decade of experience, his areas of expertise focus on utilizing computer vision techniques for pattern recognition and decision making with regards to the autonomy of intelligent systems such as automated vehicles.
