With over 130 patents and 50 published papers, John is a prolific inventor, including Remote PHY and D3.0 bonding. John was inducted into the Cable TV Pioneer society in 2015 and into the SCTE Hall of Fame in 2012. CableFax included John in the 2021 and 2022 Top 100 Power Players list.
