Heidi Steltzer is a mountain and Arctic scientist and explorer. Heidi is on the board of directors for the Center for Snow and Avalanche Studies, Silverton, CO, and a lead author on High Mountain Areas in an upcoming special report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She melts snow early in her experiments to understand how mountain watersheds and rivers are impacted, but wishes for late-lying snow. Heidi is a professor in Environmental Science and Biology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO.
