Ali Erdemir

Ali Erdemir is an Argonne Distinguished Fellow with international recognition and significant accomplishments in the fields of materials science, surface engineering, and tribology. In recognition of his pioneering research accomplishments in these fields, Dr. Erdemir received numerous coveted awards and honors, including six R&D 100 Awards. He is the current president of the International Tribology Council, immediate past-President of STLE and a Fellow of ASME, STLE, AVS, and ASM-International. He has authored/co-authored more than 300 research articles, edited three books on tribological coatings, presented more than 180 invited/keynote/plenary talks at international conferences and holds 23 U.S. patents.
