Tim Baron joined the Grand Canyon athletic department on May 11, 2016, as the Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations. In his role with the Lopes, Baron organizes and directs the day-to-day management of athletics facilities and event operations as it relates to university, conference and NCAA standards and regulations. He has overseen numerous capital projects for the athletic department, including the construction of GCU Ballpark and the GCU Softball Stadium and renovations involving the men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms, and the expansion of the Lopes Performance Center. Baron also has administrative oversight of GCU's men's volleyball and swimming and diving programs. Baron has led the charge in GCU hosting postseason events including the 2019 NCAA College Basketball Academy, the 2017 College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships, and WAC Championship events including 2017 Women’s Soccer, 2018 Men’s and Women’s Tennis, 2019 Softball, and 2021 Men’s Soccer. Baron also served as the Tournament Director for the 2021 NCAA Men’s Soccer Regional.
