Thomas is a Business Development Manager at Duke Energy where he develops investment opportunities related to Distributed Energy Technologies, such as distributed solar and micro-grids, throughout Duke Energy’s regulated service territory. He has 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with previous assignments in Generator Interconnections, Demand Response Operations, Power Systems Operations, Nuclear Operations and Maintenance, and Substation Construction. He served for six years in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program. Thomas is a Certified System Operator with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
