Dave is the co-founder and CTO of Layer3TV, the next generation cable company, and now the Home and Entertainment division of T-Mobile. Recently a general partner with Genovation Capital, a stage-agnostic private equity and consulting group. He was the EVP and Chief Technology Officer of Comcast, where he was responsible for the company's 15,000 engineers and technicians, a $6 Billion annual capital budget, and creating the architecture that delivers television, broadband and voice (the Triple Play) to more than 25 million Americans. As CTO of AT&T Broadband, he was intimately involved in its merger with Comcast in 2002. Prior to being CTO of Comcast and AT&T Broadband, Dave was a co-founder and General Partner of Pilot House Ventures and previously CTO of MediaOne Group, the interim CTO of RoadRunner, and CTO of Continental Cablevision, where he led the launch of cable broadband service in 1993. President of Scientific Atlanta's Transmission business from 1987 – 1992, and delivered much of the technology used to deliver video in both satellite and cable. His career began at GTE, started as a Member of the Technical Staff at GTE Laboratories, but quickly rose through the ranks to roles including VP of Technology and VP of R&D, then VP of Marketing for the transmission business. Captain of the 1976 US Olympic Rowing Team. He was named Communications Engineering and Design Man of the Year, was Telephony's fiber optic visionary, and won the Vanguard Award for Technology - the Cable industry's highest award. He was the head of the CableLabs Technical Advisory Board, chair of the DOCSIS Certification Board as it developed the DOCSIS data standard, and a member of CableLabs' Board of Directors.
