Steve Amaral is a Principal Fisheries Biologist with Alden Research Laboratory, Inc. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in fisheries biology, both from the University of Massachusetts. For more than 25 years, Steve has been extensively involved in the design, evaluation, and application of fish passage and protection technologies at water intakes and in the analysis of survival for fish passing downstream at hydro projects. He has also investigated water quality, instream flow, and fish passage issues associated with the relicensing of hydro projects.
