Nairian, a natural cosmetics company based in Armenia’s highlands, will make its US debut in Las Vegas at the Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) expo, the largest and most high-profile B2B beauty event in North America. Co-founded by Ara and Anahit Markosian, former software programmers from Silicon Valley, Nairian is the first natural cosmetics brand to come out of Armenia. Inspired by the incredible biodiversity of the country’s flora, its centuries-long traditions of herbalism, as well as its constellation of scientific research institutions, the couple decided to leave their Californian life behind for the fascinating world of essential oil and natural cosmetics production. Five years later, Nairian is a fully-established, vertically-integrated cosmetics company that offers a comprehensive range of skin, body and haircare products, one hundred percent free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde donors, phenoxyethanol, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes and other harmful chemicals.
Nairian operates out of Aragyugh, a small village forty minutes outside the capital, where the company has a sustainable farm and scientific lab. Lead by Anahit Markosian, all research and development is conducted by a team of chemists and biologists who not only craft unique formulas for natural beauty, but actively contribute research to the international discussion of essential oils and aromatherapy.
Staying local is important to Nairian. The majority of the company’s ingredients are grown in Aragyugh at 1600m altitude or sourced from within 100 km of Nairian’s facilities. Armenia’s volcanic soil, diversity of climate zones, and abundant sunlight nurture an incredible biodiversity, including over 1200 plant species which have potent medicinal properties, and are ideal for producing the highest quality essential oils.
Over the past year and a half, Nairian has been expanding and transcending borders—most recently releasing its products in Russia and Japan. Now, the Nairian team is ready to bring its all-natural skincare and beauty products to the United States. Cosmoprof North America will be the largest venue where the company will present its latest innovations.
Most notably, Nairian will be featuring its Anti-Age Night Serum, made with famous Armenian Apricot Oil, to nourish dry skin, and high altitude Rosehip and Sea Buckthorn Oils, for their extraordinary ability to refine the skin and give it youthful, radiant glow.
