The Wilbur D. May Center is a museum, arboretum, botanical garden, and gift store. Located just one mile north of downtown Reno, the May Center preserves the life and legacy of Wilbur D. May - adventurer, world traveler, rancher, artist, pilot, Soldier, and all-around Renaissance man.



The Museum houses Wilbur May's private collection of artifacts collected during his lifetime of travel. Browse antique firearms, African tribal masks, Japanese swords, American Western art, European glasswork, Egyptian tomb items, Polynesian carvings,  Chinese pottery, saddlery and tack, exotic taxidermy, and more!



The Arboretum and Botanical Garden feature 13 acres of walking trails through lush gardens and groves with more than 4,000 native and adaptive plant species. The Gift Store stocks a large selection of one-of-a-kind and fair-trade items from around the world.
