Span will feature The Topper Microenvironment Manager®, an add-on powered mattress cover designed to reduce heat, moisture, shearing, pressure and odor as an aid in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers through Stage IV. The Topper represents Span-America’s entry into the growing category of powered microclimate management covers. It uses the company’s patented “Air Diffusion Matrix” technology to create an uninterrupted stream of air beneath the patient/support surface. By removing excess heat and moisture within the microclimate, it helps keep vulnerable skin cool, dry and comfortable. The Topper attaches like a fitted sheet to any standard healthcare support surface. Convenient set-up, maintenance and storage make it a cost-effective alternative to expensive therapy surface rentals.
