The International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) has over 30,000 members across the US and Canada.

Elevator Constructors have shaped our skylines for over 100 years - by installing, maintaining, repairing and modernizing elevators, escalators, and moving walks.

The National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) is our apprenticeship program that is jointly managed by the IUEC and the signatory elevator companies.

The apprenticeship program is a free, "earn while you learn" program that requires the completion of 8,000 on-the-job training hours and 8 semesters of classroom training.

As an apprentice, you'll work 40 hours per week learning how to become an elevator mechanic and go to school one night per week for two semesters per year.

The elevator trade is a fast-paced, challenging career where you will earn one of the top hourly wage rates in the building trades while building your skills and becoming a proud IUEC elevator constructor.
