Cousin Frères, the parent company of Cousin Biotech, was created in 1848 by Louis Cousin in Wervicq-Sud, France. Over the years, the company had to adapt and grow within its environment. In 2009, Cousin Biotech decided to start up a "spinal division" within its organisation, and thanks to its strategic decisions, it now operates with a specific range of products for the spinal market.
IntraSPINE is one of them for the non-fusion market; a dynamic interlaminar device made of a silicone core covered with polyester. Its innovative shape allows to preserve a full range of motion while respecting the physiological lordosis. In 2014, a ligament correction system, NAJA, was introduced during the EUROSPINE meeting in Lyon.
NAJA is dedicated to the correction and stabilization of the spine during fusion of the instrumented levels.
Product's key points are:
- Smart design implant; the monobloc connector is autostable and snapped on the rod. The ligement is ended by a stainless steel malleable lamella allowing a secure positionning.
- Optimal tension distribution; the loads are distributed around the rod ensuring a free orientation of the connector after reduction
- User friendly instrumentation; the set has been developed to ensure a quick and controlled reduction, in a wide range of indications.
