The Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC) is an industry-led consortium launched by the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) at Purdue University Calumet.  The consortium will focus on supporting the development and implementation of simulation and visualization technologies to address major technological issues and related barriers that inhibit the growth of advanced manufacturing in the steel industry. The project was funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMTech) Planning Grant.  The project has two primary objectives, 1) establish a new and sustainable industry-led steel manufacturing consortium to focus on the further development and application of simulation and visualization technologies and 2) develop a technology roadmap to identify and prioritize relevant research projects that will advance steel manufacturing competitiveness across the steel manufacturing value chain.

Please visit our booth 1011 to see how you can become a member.  For more information on consortium membership and the technology roadmap please visit our website at www.steelconsortium.org or call 219-989-2765.
