Joulefusion is developing a range of non-contact microgenerators that harvest energy from the motion of nearby conductive surfaces.

The patent pending technology enables the local provision of regulated electrical power (initially in the 10mW to 1W range) for sensors, wireless sensor nodes, actuators, led lighting and other low power electronic devices.

A wide variety of applications and markets is envisaged as the devices will harvest energy from either rotary or linear motion. Furthermore, the motion may be continuous, oscillatory or even transient; for example a rotating wheel, a suspension element or a metallic target passing infrequently.

Joulefusion also produce a range of high performance data acquisition products including the P201 Series of USB & RS485 Encoder Interfaces for use with rotary or linear position encoders.
