New fast submicron-resolution 3D surface imaging sensors for demanding in-production and off-line metrology applications.
At the Sensors Expo 2016, FocalSpec announces the North American launch of its range of new high-resolution Line Confocal Imaging (LCI) Sensors.
The patented non-contact sensors, that simultaneously measure 2048 3D surface points, will revolutionize the way how 3D surface micro-geometry, dimensions, roughness, flatness, single/multilayer thicknesses, air gaps etc. of parts, components and assemblies are measured. LCI is a fast (max scan rate 2.5 kHz), natively three-dimensional measurement method that offers resolution up to 100 nanometers.
Unlike other technologies, LCI can quickly, reliably and precisely measure highly reflective, mirror-like and transparent surfaces and materials. Typical applications include high-resolution 3D measurement of semiconductors, printed electronics, sensors, PCBs, molded parts, electronic/mechanical assemblies, glass/polymer shape/thickness, etc.
