Sheila G. Mains, creator of Brownie Brittle, began selling small batch brownies to local stores in the ’90s, after losing her job. She often nibbled the rich, chocolate drippings that formed on the sides of the sheet pans, and as the brownies cooled in their racks, she thought about how to turn the crisp, satisfying tidbits into a snack product; the result was Brownie Brittle.
