Heico Fasteners Inc. manufactures a special lock washer system for bolted joints in critical applications. The two-piece wedge-lock washer system consists of two washer halves that utilize a series of cams and serrations to maintain the clamp load by using tension in the bolt. The unique physics of the washer system provides a maintenance-free bolted joint. The washer system is especially resistant to high-dynamic loads, constant vibration, and thermal cycling. Wedge-Lock washers are available in inch sizes and metric sizes that range from M3 to M130.
