Simmons Oak Farms grows trees & palms for the landscape industry. All of our products are field grown. We focus on items that are native, that thrive here in Texas, and Xeriscape plants.
Most of our shade trees are grown in RootMaker bags. They are harvested & cured for three weeks prior to leaving the nursery. Popular varieties are Live Oak, Monterrey Oak, Cedar Elm, Texas Mountain Laurel, Desert Willow 'Bubba', Honey Mesquite, thornless Paloverde 'Desert Museum", Wild (or Mexican) Olive. We also handle Texas native trees. These have been wild harvested, balled-and-burlapped, and cured. Varieties include Mesquite, Anacua, Wild Olive, Ebony, Texas Persimmons, Huisache, & Retama.
Our palm trees, agaves, & yuccas are field grown and B&B. Cold hardy palms include Texas Sabal, Windmill, Mediterranean Fans, Silver Meds, Scrub Palmetto, Pindos, and Hybrid California/Mexican Fans. Palms that do well in the mid to south Texas include Chinese Fans, Pygmy Dates, True Dates, Silver Dates, Cocus, Mexican Fans, Clustering Fishtails, and Paurotis.
Our Xeriscape items include Spanish Daggers, Yucca rostrata, & Blue Agaves.
