On November 1st, 2018, Lineage® Logistics opened the world’s latest next generation cold storage facility. The 280,000 square-foot rail and trailer loading facility, works in support of the global supply chain. Lineage® Logistics, Dreisbach Enterprises and NORDOCK® teamed up in this joint venture setting a new standard in efficiency, cold chain integrity, food safety and speed in the temperature-controlled and transportation industry.
This state of the art cold-chain facility offers 20,000 pallet positions, three blast cells and a 100,000-square-foot, high-cube, multi-temperature storage environment. It is projected to deliver up to 1 million tons of perishable product through the port annually. Dreisbach will be handling over 50,000 trailers and process 9,000 rail cars per year, which is expected to eliminate truck usage for transfer between ships and rail.
