A state-of-the art diamond-tipped cutting system is employed to achieve the precise contours and grooves in the collection–—it mills the chamfers at precisely 45 degrees. Used in the aerospace/aeronautics industries, AXOR acquired the machine especially for AXOR Edge production. Isolated on its own floor in the brand's German manufacturing facility, it’s protected from vibration or anything that might disrupt the precise cutting. AXOR FinishPlus finishes are applied using PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology. This process, in which a coating is applied in a vacuum using steam, bonds the finish to the faucet—resulting finishes are extremely scratch and abrasion resistant. Designer Jean-Marie Massaud remarks, “Each product in the collection is a jewel, a masterpiece, a unique architectural object drilled from a brass block and then dressed with personal finishes.”
