Asset Management and Strategic Planning (Room 602-603)

To ensure that staffing levels and resources are strategically focused, clear expectations and accountability must be provided in performance work plans. Essential components of work plan development include the creation of a sound asset inventory, identification of available resources and levels of service, and data-driven analytics to monitor performance, identify asset life cycles, and provide baseline benchmarks as a starting point for continuous improvement. The Public Works Maintenance and Operations Division from Charlotte County, Florida, will share how once an agency’s assets are collected and mapped to reveal a much clearer picture of their resource needs. Charlotte County has used this information in their long-range strategic planning, performance plan development, asset life-cycle maximization, and continuous improvement efforts.
