FirstNet was established by Congress to oversee the development of a nationwide broadband network for public safety—a network that prioritizes public safety and provides an interoperable platform for exchanging data. Public works is often a critical factor in emergency management and can subscribe to FirstNet as an Extended Primary User. This session will discuss how to be a part of FirstNet and why your organization should consider participating as well as the operational considerations for partnering with your local emergency management officials as a FirstNet responder.
