Allied’s Forward Controls offers snow truck operators a safer, more productive equipment control solution. There is no safer way to operate control functions of truck equipment than one that allows the driver to maintain eyes on the road and hands firmly on the wheel. By integrating the most frequently used functions into the steering wheel, drivers greatly reduce the amount of time spent searching and reaching for buttons and levers out of view. This allows for a more attentive driver who is able to adjust equipment on the fly without removing hands from the steering wheel and eyes from the road. The driver can easily and quickly control primary spreader functions with the left hand, while adjusting plow height and/or angle with the right hand. Adding and subtracting lanes on the fly has never been so easy! Best of all—forward controls allow dual access to functions. If you’re plowing a cul-de-sac and/or area where the steering wheel is in constant or awkward movements, the touch pad remains active. You can seamlessly transition from the forward controls to the touch screen controls while you’re cranking on the steering wheel.
