With over 300 venues, 700 spaces and thousands of audience seating configurations - almost all in temporary venues in one of the world's oldest cities - wheelchair access for Fringe audiences is an ongoing challenge. 70% of wheelchair users want to book tickets online, but less than 5% of wheelchair bookings are done online. The Fringe Box Office wants to change this. This case study of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Accessibility program will present the ongoing development of online wheelchair booking for Fringe audiences, how the organization is supporting attendees to book online with confidence and how the work of the Access Fringe Strategy is helping support audiences, develop new audiences and increase access for both artists and attendees.
