Functionalisation of Textile Surfaces Using Digital Application Technology (Room S210A)

Textile finishing improves performance of textile substrates by implementing functions such as water repellency, UV-protection and flame-retardancy to the textile substrate. The traditional application is done in full width using padding equipment. This technology is high in consumption of chemicals and it is not flexible for the production of small orders. In contrast, digital printing technology enables the use of fewer chemicals, because the chemicals are applied only to the areas that are needed for the finished textile. Inkjet printing has significantly developed within the last few years and now represents a future-oriented technology.
