As wearable technology has matured, consumer expectation is driving demand for clothing that offers technology, performance, comfort and aesthetics with e-textiles offering solutions to many of these. In this presentation we look at case studies, with particular attention given to the value network and convergence with contextual factors such as miniaturization, identity, personalisation and design. Managing complexity, cross-disciplinary teams and hybrid materials and technologies will be included drawing on examples of best practice from North America and Europe.
