Dr. Marie O’Mahony is an industry consultant, author and academic with over 25 years of experience in the field of smart and advanced textiles. Activities include brokering relations across a multi-disciplinary value chain, new technology, material and market R+D, new smart and advanced material/technology/product research. She is the author of six books on advanced and smart textiles, five published by Thames and Hudson and one by Ellipsis. Clients include the Mayo Clinic, Microsoft, VF Corporation, NIKE and adidas. In academia, she is Senior Lecturer (research) at the Royal College of Art (RCA), London. One of her key roles is in fostering relations between industry and academia both at a national and global level. Marie is a regular contributor to ATS flagship publications ATS Source and Speciality Fabrics Review.
