Tracks: Strategy and Tactics

This presentation is directed at officers and aspiring officers. The objectives are based on what it takes to be an effective officer and an integral part of the organization. Emphasis is on prefire activities/policies/expectations and how they affect the success of incident activity. Company- and battalion-level integrity and accountability are discussed from the perspective of proper decentralization of the fireground to maximize information gathering that enables the addressing of strategies; accountability; and safety, including personnel accountability reports, safety officer duties, and rehab guidelines. Structural fire analysis, risk management, the role of the officer, and the officer's role in supervision are also covered.
