This course begins with a didactic one-hour lecture about safety in and around elevator equipment and an introduction to safely handling an elevator emergency. Participants are then rotated through four skill stations that cover the use of door keys/pick tools, elevator equipment, manually lowering a hydraulic elevator, and removal through a top escape hatch.
