Real Estate Forum 2018

CLOSING ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION: TODAY’S MARKETS AND TOMORROW’S RISKS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Closing Roundtable Discussion: How do You Expect to Grow in 2019? A Time for More Caution or to Find New Opportunities?

Given the broad range of issues that were raised during the Real Estate Forum over the previous two days, a leadership panel will offer the last word. Some have assumed their roles in the past year. Representing a divergence of interests and viewpoints, the panel will offer their insights on what risks and opportunities lie ahead, and what courses of action would they suggest accordingly. Are they chasing yield or momentum? How high will interest rates continue to rise in 2019 in the U.S. and in Canada? What impact will they have on the market? What could cause investors to head for the sidelines? Of all the opportunities in today’s market, what is the most significant one? Are Canadian investors going to continue to increase their global presence? Is 2019 a year to be more bold or more conservative? Are there still good quality development opportunities? In which property classes and markets? How focused are you on technological disruptors and transformation like PropTech on your organization, your real estate activities, the market and your clients?
