Can utilities leverage first-generation AMI networks to support bandwidth-intensive distribution automation applications? We’ll talk with utilities about how they can best migrate or modify existing networks to create the necessary field-area networks needed to support distributed energy resources (DER) integration and the future utility.  What challenges are utilities experience with using AMI networks for advanced monitoring and control needed for DER integration? Attendees will learn first-hand from utilities on the paths they’re taking to solve these critical issues.
