Tracks: Speaker

Using short videos and photos of actual fire investigations, I will detail how a fire can grow from a spark, through flashover, all the way to backdraft. Common causes of fire will be looked at, as well as arson and juvenile fire-setters. From here we will look at how passive and active building concepts help us to control this thing called fire. Sprinklers, fire alarms, sheet rock, distance to exits, etc., will be discussed, as they pertain to fire safety at home and work. Attendees will learn how fire starts, grows, and moves in a building. They will see how buildings at home and at work are built to help them stay safe. With regards to their own safety, attendees will leave with knowledge that will yield a lifetime of benefits.
