IN7 | Increasing Learning Equity With an Uncommon Program in Higher Ed, 1:1 iPads (Room Dade)

Discover how implementing a 1:1 Apple iPad program in higher ed promotes learning equity. Maryville’s 1:1 iPad initiative challenges the historical norm and allows each student to thrive with their own unique learning style. The session will demonstrate how this program allows students to access information in the method that best suits their learning style, providing them with the best opportunity to succeed in their given discipline. Since implementation, this program has saved the university no less than $50,000 on apps alone per semester and over $590,000 on hardware. To date, Maryville has deployed 3,600 iPads, 350 Macs and 110 iPhones within its facilities. You’ll hear how it’s done, as you learn best practices for managing these devices and how to keep them secure. Plus, you’ll leave with a checklist for getting started.
