The ACC Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) will provide an update on the phase-down of HFCs in the SPF industry. EPA’s SNAP Rules 20 and 21 were the primary drivers the phase-down in the United States, until the U.S. Court of Appeals partially vacated the Rules. With the lack of leadership at the federal level, California, Vermont, and Washington St. have stepped in to regulate the use of HFCs. This presentation will summarize key issues impacting the SPF, including cross border transit of SPF systems and outline how EPA will respond to the Court's decision.
