Analytics has taken over the sports world, but large corporations have been collecting all sorts of data for years. Of course, you don’t have to be a large corporation to apply similar processes. Jim Balsillie, retired co-CEO of RIM, recently stated, ‘Data isn’t the new oil – it’s the new plutonium’. The ability to use data effectively to drive rapid, precise, and profitable decisions has been a critical strategic advantage for companies such as Google and Disney. This session emphasizes solutions and venue success stories that address data insight and decision-making. With the increasing availability of broad and deep sources of data, analytics is becoming an even more critical need for organizations of all types and sizes.
