Michael Harrington, NADA’s vice president of Legislative Affairs, is responsible for implementing NADA’s legislative agenda. His areas of policy expertise include dealer-assisted financing, fuel economy and highway safety. Before joining NADA, Harrington was appointed by President George W. Bush as director of External Affairs for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Harrington also served as legislative director to U.S. Rep. Bob Franks (R-N.J.) and deputy chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw (R-Fla.). Before starting his career in Washington, Harrington helped put himself through college working at New Norris Chevrolet of Westfield, N.J., as a car jockey and oil and grease man.
