Mary Barra
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
General Motors Company
General Motors intends to create a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. In her keynote address, Chairman and CEO Mary Barra will share the company’s progress toward achieving its bold vision, and the critical role dealers play in a future that will include electric and self-driving vehicles. Barra believes that to build customers’ loyalty and trust in a rapidly changing industry, it is more important than ever to keep them at the center of our business. General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra envisions a world with zero traffic crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity: time. She’s focused on strengthening GM’s core business of great cars, trucks and crossovers, while also working to lead the transformation of personal mobility through advanced technologies like connectivity, electrification, autonomous driving and car sharing. Barra has also established a strategic direction based on putting the customer at the center of everything the company does. Barra has spent her career at GM, with experience in various fields including design, engineering and quality; assembly; global product development, purchase and supply; and human resources. She began as a General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) co-op student at the Pontiac Motor Division. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
