Bobby Goldwater, CVE, has had a career of impressive accomplishments including serving 24 years in a number of executive positions at Madison Square Garden, opening STAPLES Center as the arena’s first Senior Vice President and General Manager and having a leading role in the successful effort to bring Major League Baseball back to Washington, D.C. Bobby is the President of The Goldwater Group consulting firm with notable projects in sports, entertainment and venue management and is the chairman of the Washington DC Sports Hall of Fame. He is completing his 17th year as a distinguished faculty member and a 22-month term as the Interim Faculty Director with Georgetown University’s Sports Industry Management master’s program, for which he initiated its online curriculum and developed a sports management education program in association with the Josoor Institute in Doha, Qatar. He is the co-author of two editions of the textbook, The Sports Management and Marketing Playbook. A longtime IAVM member, Bobby has served on the Executive Committee and represented the Universities sector on the Board of Directors, is the Past Chair of the Academic Committee and is completing terms on the Industry Affairs Committee and Strategic Leadership and Resource Committee. Bobby is the Academic Liaison for IAVM's Senior Executive Symposium held annually at Georgetown. He is the host of IAVM’s monthly Focus FOURward Zoomcast series and is engaged in a number of education-focused initiatives and advocacy projects for the association. He was a 2024 recipient of an IAVM Outstanding Volunteer Service Award.
