Anthony Lopez has served as the General Manager of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center – Dallas since May 2019 with Oak View Group and its predecessor. During this time, he has worked closely with the city of Dallas throughout the Master Planning process and on the resulting projects. He spent the prior thirteen years as Assistant General Manager of McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois and nine years at the Minneapolis Convention Center, six as Executive Director/Assistant City Coordinator. During his tenure at McCormick Place, he was heavily involved in all phases of the Labor Reform of 2010 including crafting policy for substantial changes in the utility and food services agreements and facility operational procedures to reflect requirements of the legislation. He also worked on the opening of the West Building and design and opening of the Wintrust Center. During his tenure in Minneapolis, he led the Minneapolis Convention Center through a 700,000 square foot expansion which opened in 2002. Prior to the Minneapolis Convention Center, he held positions with the Iowa State Center in Ames, IA, Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, NE, and Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Anthony attended college at Iowa State University.
