Mr. Andrew Krum has served as a researcher and development engineer for more than 15 years in commercial vehicle Human Factors and maintains a CDL. Currently, Mr. Krum serves as a Group Leader in the Center for Truck and Bus Safety at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). Andrew manages projects that focus on the testing and development of commercial truck and bus advanced technologies for private contracts and public contracts at FMCSA and the FTA, including FMCSA’s study on Highly Automated Commercial Vehicle Safety Baseline. Andrew has a background working in industry at Navistar as a Senior Technical Specialist in Human Factors—consulting the engineering community on the needs of drivers and crew on North American and Global products. Over the years, Andrew has guided development of multiple blank-sheet design cabs for three separate manufacturers.
