Carole Turley Voulgaris

Carole Turley Voulgaris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Prior to her appointment at Harvard, she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, where she taught courses on sustainable mobility, intelligent transportation systems, and transportation system planning. Her research interests are in travel behavior and forecasting and institutional decision-making. She has published on these topics in the Journal of Planning Education and Research, Transportation Research Record, Journal of Transport Geography, and the Journal of Transportation and Land Use. Dr. Voulgaris holds a PhD in Urban Planning from UCLA, an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Brigham Young University. She is a licensed professional engineer in Washington State.
