Marcus Burke is Executive Leader, Future Technologies, at the National Transport Commission (NTC), Australia. The NTC is the lead government agency for policy development in land transport in Australia. Marcus leads the team at the NTC developing the regulatory framework for automated vehicles in Australia, from trials through to commercial deployment. He has led the NTC’s automated vehicle program since its inception in 2016 and has presented at conferences internationally on the legal issues associated with automated vehicles. Marcus previously led a national reform of chain of responsibility legislation for commercial vehicle safety in Australia. Marcus joined the NTC from the private sector in 2011, with previous experience in the software industry.
