Ross Froat has over 16 years of trucking industry experience in service, management, and technology of a broad range of medium- and heavy-duty equipment. Additional areas of expertise include trucking safety technology applications, prognostic conditioning, electric vehicle studies, and trucking technology engineering policy analyses. As Director of Engineering and Information Technology for the American Trucking Associations (ATA), Mr. Froat is responsible for managing ATA policy on equipment, enforcement, information technology, and automated driving systems. Prior to his employment with ATA, Mr. Froat managed service and logistics at a Baltimore, MD, truck leasing and maintenance facility; and also worked through ranks in several states as a former diesel technician. Mr. Froat earned a B.S. in electrical engineering during that time and has since published multiple articles and products on trucking industry technologies, freight operations, and transportation safety.
