Casey is a member of the leadership team at VTA responsible for the delivery of roadway, transit, transit facilities and roadway pricing projects to improve mobility throughout Silicon Valley. The department that Casey leads is responsible for VTA’s highway program, express lanes program, intelligent transportation systems program, environmental programs, sustainability program and traffic engineering. Prior to joining VTA, Casey worked with a consulting firm focusing on design, implementation and operations of traffic signal control systems and transit signal priority systems and transportation planning. He also just completed six years leading the Transportation Research Board’s Managed Lanes Committee as its co-chair and vice-chair. Casey is a registered professional civil engineer in California and Alaska with undergraduate and graduate degrees in civil engineering from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and the University of California, Berkeley.
