Dr. Kelly Regal is the Associate Administrator of Research and Information Technology at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Dr. Regal is responsible for conducting Agency-wide data analysis and research programs, as well as the evaluation and deployment of pilot or emerging technologies dedicated to reducing commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Dr. Regal has more than 30 years engineering, research and information technology leadership and management experience from the private sector and in the federal government. Prior to joining the FMCSA, Dr. Regal served as the Associate Administrator for Research, Development and Technology (RD&T) within the Research and Innovative Technology (RITA) Administration and also held various engineering positions with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration. Dr. Regal received her Ph.D. from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Masters Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University.
